Travelling by car 

There is limited car parking available during the day and the evening, both in car parks and on the road for visitors. Most if not all parking is pay and display, for visitors arriving by car from anywhere across the Island set your sat nav to PO37 6BG, Esplanade, Shanklin, this will show up as Shanklin Rowing Club.

Both carparks are operated by Isle of Wight Council, please check charges on board before leaving the car park

General Traffic Notice 

Day: During the Regatta the road along the esplanade remains open (a live highway) and gets very busy, please take care, if crossing the road to the car parks.

Evening: In the evening the road will be closed from the top of Hope Hill from at 9pm, just ahead of the fireworks. The road will reopen just after 10pm

There is a  Taxi Rank outside the Shanklin training station and one in Shanklin High Street

Information Point 

The Regatta Information stand can be found on the old pier apron, at the same point where the event host / compere is located. The information point will also have TV screens that show a number of information messages during the day. As times of the events could change the event compere will also announce the changes as they happen.

Safety Notice

You are advised to remember that during the day time the esplanade road remains open and is a live highway. The road is closed during the evening ahead of the fireworks (9pm)

The Lifeboat remains fully operational during the regatta and all crew remain on call. In the event of the lifeboat being request to launch you will hear several blast of the tractors horn.

The lifeboat will use the public slipway at next to the pier apron, please keep this clear.

When the fireworks are setting up on the beach, you are asked to keep well clear of their setting up area. Before the fireworks are set off a final check will be undertaken of the beach, once the beach is clear the display will start
